# For agents: Portability earns its credibility

The ideal OpenProse · board 15 of 17 · 2026-10-09.
This deck describes a proposed experience.

Measure requirement preservation and task performance across different execution environments.

## On the slide

**The agreement travels. Capabilities come from the environment.**

Does it preserve the requirements?

Does it do the work well?

Measure both.

## Explanation

The same selected agreement should be usable through different capable models and harnesses, including local, hosted, and organization-controlled environments. Their tools, permissions, and operating guarantees can differ. Conformance asks whether a particular combination preserves the agreement: its scope, references, bindings, and required behavior. Task performance asks what useful work it accomplishes. Versioned tests and inspectable failures can make portability credible. “Prose Complete Agent” names the general ideal, including honest treatment of blocked work. A finite test suite supplies narrower evidence; it cannot certify faithful execution of every possible contract.
